We have been intervening in Diffa, Niger for many years where Boko Haram victims are fleeing to safety. We have dug 4 wells, equipping them with solar powered pumping systems and tanks, and built 1,000 family shelter units. We also provide medical care and emergency food.
Because the security situation is so unstable, few charities have invested at all in the region, which makes our work all the more important. We have had an African team on the ground (6 families) there for many years and are able to get funds to them in order to respond to crisis needs.
Additional funds are needed for additional shelter homes, food and animals so the Fulani can build back their herds and become self supporting again.
