We are quickly mobilizing efforts in response to this devastating tragedy. We are raising funds for the following:
- At least 1700 Afghans are heading to the Sacramento area, where we are based. Aslan is helping some of these with start up costs and welcome gifts. We are especially helping children whose parents got them to the airport in Kabul, many times literally throwing them over the fencing to get them out of the country. These kids will be given to Afghan immigrants who have already settled in our area, but most of these have minimal resources, so we are being of help.
- We have relationships with an organization that has been very active in Afghanistan for over 20 years. They have a network that is able to get much needed support directly to those in need.
- There are several expat families who had to leave valuable assets behind when they fled the country. We are helping to reimburse some of these losses.
- Radio continues to be a key way to minister to Afghanistan. Aslan is helping to expand the reach of the Message of Hope for Afghanistan in this way.
